Relocation

Our Relocation Assistance Program (RAP) will help you manage all the tasks you need to complete, and help you get the information you need for a successful transition. We know how hard a change of duty station can be and the various tasks you complete. It is with this in mind that we offer the following services to our military men and women and their families. Call 466-4201/5743 to register for any Relocation classes. Watch our Electronic Welcome Aboard package eLearning Course.

Checking In? Have you:

  • Visited the Relocation Office?
  • Visited the required station offices?
  • Had your check-in sheet signed?
  • Attended the Welcome Aboard Expo?

Checking In & Out

When arriving to Cherry Point, you will begin a check-in process. This requires you to visit various station offices to find out what services are offered. The Relocation Office is your first stop and is a mandatory check-in and check-out stop for signature and information. You will be provided with a station map, and flyers and brochures for the many programs and services offered by Marine & Family Programs. At this time you can sign up for the mandatory Welcome Aboard Expo which is held monthly. Each office representative needs to sign off on the check-in sheet provided by your unit. For those Service members who are PCSing to another duty station, the process is the same. The Relocation Office will provide you with information on your next duty station.

Need a Sponsor?

A sponsor is another active duty Marine/Sailor at the duty station that you will be PCSing to. If you are PCSing outside the United States, you are required to have a sponsor. For a sponsorship request form, see the Relocation Office or your sponsorship coordinator at your squadron. Sponsors will contact you when they are assigned and find out what assistance you may need prior to and upon arrival to your new duty station. Typical sponsor duties include things such as transportation from the airport, making reservations for billeting, and providing you with information on the area and what it’s like living there.

Sponsorship Training

Sponsorship Training is available to units & individuals upon request.
